One thing that some people asked me when I got to Brazil was if I was on vacation (from the difficult job of tripping around the world) at Carnival. No! Believe me or not, spending Carnival in Bahia was already part of the program. But I suggested our itinerary at the “chill out period”, for after Carnival: Morro de Sao Paulo, an island two hours from Salvador.
It wasn’t my first or second or third time that I have been to this paradise. This is one of my favourite spots in Brazil. I went there for the first time in January 2005 and I love it. In the same year I went back two times. I even started to think that the island is so perfect because I was connected somehow to it. That’s why I was so proud when the rest of the Smirnoff Ten came to the place and gave so many compliments to its natural beauty. And it’s not just about the beaches, but the local people treat everybody as friends – even if it’s a one vacation friendship. In fact, I’ve made some really good friends at Morro de Sao Paulo, and all the times that I come back, I feel like I’m going home. That’s why I want to go back there more and more. You have to be there to feel the positive vibration that is carried in this little piece of Bahia. Nothing like partying at the beach, feet in the sand; feeding fishes on the 4th beach; jumping from the tiroleza – and everything includes an amazing view.
To be able to show my foreign friends one of the best parts of Brazil is the best; but to see that they were impressed and elected my country as the one that they most like in the world, is priceless. I’m super Brazilian and I’m proud to show the globe our value – that the more that I travel, the more I see that it’s worth lots!
